Emerald Hills Chess Classes Coming to the Central Valley!For Families in Lathrop, Manteca, Tracy, and Surrounding Areas Emerald Hills Chess is partnering with S.A.M. Singapore Math - Lathrop to bring chess classes for all skill levels to the Lathrop area! These small (max 6-8 students) group classes provide intensive, tailored lessons from experienced, high-level teachers that maximize player improvement while also developing critical thinking skills. Students will also play weekly USCF-rated games followed by 1:1 analysis by coaches. This will students to put their learnings into immediate practice, along with the chance to win trophies. And there will be time for fun variants such as Blitz, bughouse, and King of the Hill, too! Sections: 1) Beginners (Grade 3 and under) - for completely new players to those that know the basic rules. We provide a fast track for kids to learn the core tactics and start playing rated tournament games by the end of the session. 2) Advanced Beginners - for older (K3+) beginners up to players that have started to play online or tournaments (up to USCF 400 rating/600 online). We reinforce the key tactics and teach kids how to start thinking strategically - and win. 3) Intermediate - for players (USCF 300-700 / online 500-900), we target all facets of the game - from openings, middlegame, and endgames - as well as improve visualization and problem-solving on the board. 4) Advanced - for players (USCF 700-1200 / online 900-1500 rating), we teach the essential strategies and mental skills that translate to tournament toughness and ongoing rating gains.
