Emerald Hills Chess is coming to Lathrop in partnership with SAM Singapore Math - Lathrop and we’re kicking it off with a special half-day winter event! Join us for an exciting morning of chess on Saturday, January 11. Get a professional lesson taught by one of the coaches of state and national champions, Fallon Chess of Dublin. Then play a friendly tournament against players of similar skill, and potentially win a trophy! This half-day camp is open to seasoned USCF-rated players, past and present chess club members, online chess enthusiasts, and even novices learning the rules. We invite all interested youth from Lathrop/River Islands, Manteca, Tracy Ellis/Hills, Mountain House, etc. — especially our friends who’ve recently moved from the Tri-Valley! You’ll also be able to meet the co-founders of Emerald Hills Chess and learn about our plans for a fun, competitive scholastic chess club in Lathrop. Emerald Hills Chess teaches 300+ K-12 students in 12 Tri-Valley schools. We also hold popular (100+ players), affordable monthly tournaments open to beginners up to nationally-ranked individuals. Not only do we provide engaging lessons from professional, passionate coaches, but we also help our students develop skills such as critical thinking, resilience, and teamwork—all while having fun!
