The popular Donlon After-School Chess Club, presented by the co-founders of state and national champions, Fallon Chess, is back for spring 2025! Who Can Join? This club is open to all Donlon students in grades 1-5—whether you're an experienced tournament player, an online chess fan ready to play face-to-face, or a beginner learning the basics, there’s a place for you! What to Expect: Expert Coaching: Get inspired by professional coaches who are passionate about teaching chess. Engaging Lessons: Build your strategic skills through interactive lessons. Tournaments & Trophies: Compete in tournaments for a chance to win trophies. Fun Variants: Try exciting formats like bughouse and blitz. Skill Development: Boost your critical thinking and problem-solving abilities—all while having fun with friends! When and Where: Day: Fridays Time: 2:50 - 4:00 PM Dates: January 17 - May 16 (15 sessions) Cost: $300 (Early Bird price of $280 if registered by December 20) Discounts: $20 sibling discount at checkout; prorated discounts for late or in-session signups. About Us: Emerald Hills Chess is a Dublin non-profit dedicated to building critical thinking skills, camaraderie, and community through the world's most popular board game. We teach 300+ kids through 12+ after-school chess clubs and classes around the Tri-Valley, including our flagship program, state and national (online) champion Fallon Chess. We also hold popular, affordable monthly tournaments for youth and adults.
