Beat the Heat with Fun, Intensive Summer Training
Join us for tailored, engaging chess classes that help players of all levels improve their skills. Our experienced and enthusiastic coaches will provide personalized instruction, oversee competitive games and exciting mini-tournaments with prizes.
What We Offer:
USCF-rated and Competitive Tournaments to practice skills in a demanding setting
Fun Chess Variants like Bughouse and Blitz
Prizes and Trophies for top performers and most improved players
Open to Grades 1-12 throughout the Tri-Valley area.
(Note: We also offer Wednesday lunchtime tourney training classes and Weeklong half-day summer camps)
When: Sundays, June 7th - August 9th (10 sessions total)
9 AM - 10 AM: Novices and Advanced Beginners (see below for details)
9 AM - 10:30 AM: Advanced Beginners/Intermediate/Advanced
Cost:
1-Hour Class: $250, 90-Minute Class: $350
Class Sections:
Beginners (Grade 3 and under):
Perfect for brand-new players or those who know the basic rules. We'll fast-track their learning with key tactics, and by the end of the session, they'll be ready to compete in rated tournament games!
Advanced Beginners (Grade 3+, up to USCF 400/online 600 rating):
For older beginners, we focus on strengthening core tactics, strategic thinking, and winning techniques.
Intermediate (USCF 400-800 / Online 500-900):
Tailored for players who have a solid foundation. We cover all aspects of the game—openings, middlegame, endgame—plus problem-solving and visualization skills.
Advanced (USCF 800-1200 / Online 900-1400):
For seasoned players aiming to enhance their tournament toughness. We dive into advanced strategies and mental techniques to keep climbing the rating ladder.
