Description

Summer 2025 - Sunday Chess Classes

Join us for tailored, engaging chess lessons designed to help players of all levels improve their skills. Our experienced and enthusiastic coaches will provide personalized instruction in small groups (4-8 students per coach), ensuring each child receives the attention they deserve.

 

What We Offer:

USCF-rated Tournaments to practice skills in a competitive setting

Fun Chess Variants like Bughouse and Blitz for extra excitement

Prizes and Trophies for top performers and most improved players

Open to Grades 1-9 throughout the Tri-Valley area.

 

(Note: Intermediate players (3-700 rating or equivalent) between grades 3-8 may also consider our Tuesday noontime small group classes)

 

When: Sundays, June 1st - August 3rd (10 sessions total)

Times:

9:00 AM - 10:00 AM: Novice and Advanced Beginners (see below for details)

9:00 AM - 10:30 AM: Intermediate

9 AM - 10:30 AM: Advanced

 

Cost:

1-Hour Class: $250

90-Minute Class: $350

Class Sections:

Beginners (Grade 3 and under):

Perfect for brand-new players or those who know the basic rules. We'll fast-track their learning with key tactics, and by the end of the session, they'll be ready to compete in rated tournament games!

Advanced Beginners (Grade 3+):

For older beginners (up to USCF 400 or online 600 rating). We focus on strengthening core tactics, strategic thinking, and winning techniques.

Intermediate (USCF 300-700 / Online 500-900):

Tailored for players who have a solid foundation. We cover all aspects of the game—openings, middlegame, endgame—plus problem-solving and visualization skills.

Advanced (USCF 700-1100 / Online 900-1400):

For seasoned players aiming to enhance their tournament toughness. We dive into advanced strategies and mental techniques to keep climbing the rating ladder.
